FEBRUARY 15th – SATURDAY
MODERN CALLIGRAPHY WORKSHOP
What is it? Modern calligraphy is different from traditional and historic pen written calligraphy. It is like copper plate script but with a contemporary twist. It has a loose, free style (which many find easier to learn). All materials provided.
Tutor: Maureen Hallahan (professional calligrapher).

PAINTING ON VELLUM
Vellum is a centuries old material used for longevity (cow skin) a by product that is washed and scraped to a very smooth surface watercolours are used and this produces a rich luminous look to the painting. Never tried it? Have a go!
APRIL 12th – SATURDAY
AN INTRODUCTION TO BOTANICAL ART FOR BEGINNERS
Learn the basics of drawing and painting understanding the many
techniques to create a small botanical. All materials provided.
MAY 2nd & 3rd – FRIDAY & SATURDAY
DRAWING AND PAINTING SMALL MAMMALS
Including Mice – Voles – Hedgehogs – Rabbits – Squirrels – Hares in their habitat.
JUNE 6th & 7th – FRIDAY & SATURDAY
DRAWING AND PAINTING BRITISH BIRDS
From original photos (Supplied). Understanding feather direction – eye painting, feet etc. in their habitat.
JULY 11th & 12th – FRIDAY & SATURDAY
PAINTING BEES, BEATLES & BUTTERFLIES ON FLOWERS AND PLANTS
Our pollinators. Paint on vellum or paper.
AUGUST 29TH & 30TH – FRIDAY & SATURDAY
ILLUSTRATING FRUIT. APPLES, PEARS, PLUMS & MORE
Learn to understand form, texture and tone including stems and leaves.
OCTOBER 10TH & 11TH – FRIDAY & SATURDAY
PAINTING THE BOUNTY OF AUTUMN
From hedgerow, fields, forests, horse chestnut sweet chestnut, hazel, acorn, fungi and more of nature’s surprises.
NOVEMBER 1st SATURDAY
MAKING A BOTANICAL ILLUSTRATION BY USING THE STIPPLE METHOD
Using Fine Liner pens. The end result is stunning.
DECEMBER 6th – SATURDAY
MAKING A TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS WREATH/DOOR DECORATION
All materials supplied, and refreshments.

BOOKING CONDITIONS
Deposit £30.00 for two day courses
£20.00 for a one day course
Full amount for morning and afternoon
One to one days can be arranged at £175.00 per day, deposit £50.00.
Please note:
Only a deposit or the full amount with the booking form will reserve a place on any course or class. A £10.00 deposit will reserve a place on each of the classes [not courses] throughout the year.
